For the first time on Apple TV, Apple TV 4K uses 100% recycled gold in the plating of various circuit boards with 100% recycled tin in the solders. The thermal module is made with 80% recycled aluminum, while 100% recycled aluminum has been used in the shell of the Siri Remote. In addition, the new packaging eliminates the plastic outer film, and is made up of more than 90% fiber, bringing Apple even closer to the goal of eliminating plastic from all packaging by 2025.
